If you are not familiar with Christa Wells, now is the time to get aquainted. Having one full length under her belt, Christa’s resume also boasts the writing credits to Natalie Grant’s #1 hit “Held“. Her latest work, How Emptiness Sings, is a poetic masterpiece. Clocking in at just under 26 minutes, this release is comprised of seven well written songs, no filler.

Lyrically, the CD covers a great deal of territory with Christa’s soothing vocals telling the story of God at work in and around her life. At times you will notice a touch of melancholy, but it always includes the hope found in Jesus Christ.

The album flows in a progressive manner landing on the title track. It is here that you will find a brief moment of shakiness in Christa’s voice with the backdrop of the violin and keys creating a sense of desperation that can only be answered with Matthew 11:28. It’s a powerful moment in the CD that can work up some emotions in the listener.

This CD will be released in March of 2011. Visit Christa Wells website for ordering information. You won’t be disappointed.
